Vintage Coleman Instant-Lite Model 4A – Enamel Gas Steam Iron (1930s) | 3D Model
This project is a highly detailed recreation of the iconic Coleman Instant-Lite Model 4A enamel gas steam iron from the 1930s. The objective was not only to replicate the original industrial design, but to capture the physical history of the object — its material degradation, repeated use, and long-term storage.

The asset is built with a strong focus on realism and material storytelling. Every surface was treated as a historical record of wear and human interaction.
The model recreates, in fine detail:

Long-term metal corrosion and oxidation

Chipped and peeling enamel paint
Subtle abrasion on high-contact edges
Burn marks, soot deposits, and ash traces
Accumulated micro-scratches and surface imperfections from decades of use and storage

These elements were carefully layered to achieve believable aging behavior consistent with early 20th-century metal tools exposed to heat, fuel combustion, and repeated handling.

The result is not just a clean prop, but a time-worn artifact with visible material history.
